In a free pose, reminiscent of the classical sculpture of a sleeping satyr.
Coming from the bequest of the Turin artist Luigi Guglielmino.
The collection of sketches and preparatory drawings mainly included works by his teacher, Enrico Reffo, one of the greatest exponents of Italian religious painting of the second half of the nineteenth century.
Our drawing must have been a study or a preparatory drawing or a sketch for a fresco project in one of the numerous Piedmont buildings frescoed by Reffo and his pupils.
