Painting by Emanuele Cappello, born in 1936, Expressionism
In excellent condition, it measures 70 x 50 cm without the frame and 78 x 58 cm with the frame.
Emanuele Cappello, born in Vittoria, Ragusa, in 1936, developed a dynamic expressionist style characterized by a rich texture and bold brushstrokes that create a bas-relief effect. This painting, created between 1970 and 1980, depicts men on horseback in a scene that may evoke the Cascine racetrack in Florence, a city where the artist lived for many years.
Executed in oil on canvas, the work conveys energy and movement through a bold use of color and an intense pictorial gesture.
Emanuele Cappello, born in 1936, studied at the Liceo Artistico in Palermo and Florence before completing his training at the Académie La Grande Chaumière in Paris. Active professionally since 1954, he is mentioned in the Dictionary of Painters and Sculptors by E. Benezit. He worked between Monte Carlo and Florence, developing a vibrant expressionist style characterized by a vivid palette and a highly textured painting technique.
