Henry Déziré – French Painter, Early 20th c.

This collection gathers more than 60 paintings by Henry Dezire, a French artist active in the early 20th century.

Born in Libourne near Bordeaux, he studied in Paris, absorbing avant-garde influences and exhibiting around 1910 at the Durand-Ruel Gallery. Later in Brittany, he drew inspiration from its poetry, folklore, and landscapes.

His work moves from idealized visions of nymphs and bathers to refined nudes close to the Nabi spirit, always transforming reality through subjective perception and emotion.
