It represents the area of archaeological excavations in Pompeii, near the Temple of Venus.
In the background, Vesuvius is depicted with light smoke rising from it. Signed lower left "P. Pascal".
Renowned painter from Toulouse, known for his orientalist works, which he executed almost exclusively in the gouache technique.
Very good condition.
Original wooden and stucco frame with frame atelier label in Paris.
Small painting is protected by glass (there are some reflections in the photo).
