Painting from the neoclassical period, from the second half of the 18th century.  The style of the painting corresponds to the taste of the beginnings of neoclassicism, with a strong interest in the culture of antiquity and towards Greco-Roman mythology, for the cult of the classical beauty of the male body.  The chromatic range is still reminiscent of the soft and delicate colors of the just-gone rococo period.
The painting has been recently restored, cleaned and framed in a period giltwood frame (resized).
