Florentine school.
The portrait of young girl rappresented as Saint.
Oil on board ( wood).
cm 39 x 27,5
Early XVII century.
On the back of the wooden panel there is an original wooden crossbar with 3 nails, and an ancient sheet with prayer.
The young girl with blonde curls, has a fine hairstyle with pearls, has elongated pearl earrings, and a dress with many gold jewelry with Cabochon stones (garnets?) .
The clothing is of classic, ancient Roman style, which was very fashionable in the seventeenth century. On the right you can see a palm branch, and a glimpse of landscape.
Stylistically, the painting is to be placed in the circle of Florentine painters, influenced by Carlo Dolci.
Conservation notes: there is an antique forged nail that can be seen from the surface.
