Male portrait from the Art Nouveau era.
An enigmatic and magnetic image of the man, on whose face there is just a hint of a smile.
Technique: oil on canvas.
In good condition, without frame.
Signed on the right: A. Fuks.
Alexander Fuks was a painter of Russian origins, who studied painting in Munich.
He became a portraitist of the Bavarian upper class and aristocracy.
The portrait of King Ludwig III of Bavaria is preserved in the collection of the Alte Pinacotek in Munich.

Date and place of birth of the artist:
Born in 1863, Nikolaev/Russia
Died in Munich in 1927.
It portrays an elegant standing man. Stylistically very close to the portrait of Ludwig III of Bavaria from 1913, which has been in the collection of the Bavarian museum since the 1930s.
Fuks studied in Munich from 1883 to 1887, and acquired a reputation as a skilled portraitist of the Bavarian nobility and middle class, his work including portraits of Prince Regent Luitpold and King Ludwig III.

Almost life-size, with a dark suit, waistcoat, white shirt and tie on which a flower-shaped brooch with three diamond dots shines.
Painting that combines the sober language played on a few colors and a lively impressionist interpretation on the hands and face.
A painting of great elegance and pictorial quality.
In good condition.

Dimensions: 136cm x 102cm
