Antique frame, adapted in black painted wood and tortoiseshell finish, gold, burin worked.
In an Arcadian landscape, we see a monumental porphyry obelisk with a medallion with an "old-fashioned" profile. On the base of the obelisk a leader is represented.
Alongside, sitting on the ground, there is a group of Greek philosophers or scientists with scrolls with scriptures (one of them has a sheet on which stylized Greek letters are written and two triangles are drawn). Conservation notes: The painting has undergone restoration, is now in good condition. There are some pictorial retouches.
